Hi everyone, yesterday was a very very busy day at work. It was a very good night. It was the masquerade again

I had a lot to drink because there was a big party going on and it was so much fun. A very rich customer was paying for drinks to everybody for a period of time. The bar made a big announcement so everybody suddenly threw themselves at the bar haha. It was non-stop service but most of them were not tipping, but the customer added a tip for all the bartenders when he paid the bill at the end of the night.

Martinis here and there, people were wild, screaming to get our attention! Now I have to get ready because I have to be at work at 7 PM.  FINALLY some pictures lol,  of me with a mask Talk to you all soon XOXOX

To all of you who support Ralph at www.ralph-woods.com, there was a technical issue that is now fixed!!!  We were actively working on it, and we think the ‘downtime’ was a day or two.

SO SORRY to the Loyal Royals!!! All is well now.

The week has been a lot of work and I’m catching on to the job pretty good. I’m learning the drinks, getting used to the language barrier (nobody here speaks french lol). These Americans are the real thing lol, sometimes it’s hard to understand what they say with the music playing loud and so many new drinks — and even alcohol I’ve never heard about in Canada.

Last Friday was a new night at Johnnys called Fierce Fridays - and Saturday was the masquerade ball. All the dancers and staff were wearing masks lol and some had costumes. It was pretty funny and it’s every Saturday.

Halloween is coming soon, and I stuill haven;t decided on a costume. The bar took pictures of the event Saturday and I’ll post pics when I get them. Hope to post more often very soon but as you can tell, it is a total education getting settled, even if it’s temporary XOXOX

Today is my last day of full training shifts. I’m going to be working from Thursday to Sunday, 4 shifts a week. I’ve enjoyed myself where I am staying, but it’s time for me to get an apartment if I intend to stay in this area. The weather is very nice here, but that would require buying a car and other expenses  — so decisions , decisions

Halloween is coming up very soon and I’ll probably be working here at Johnny’s. I have to figure out a costume. I’m thinking about something masculine - that I can put together that is quality and different. Any ideas?

I am still accessing the internet on loaned equipment temporarily, so still no pictures. Thinking of you, and I hope I talk to you tomorrow - if not, know that I am trying XOXOX

Ralph is very busy, as you know, with a new job and new surroundings.

However, even if he were not, today - October 12TH - would not be ‘business as usual’.  Today is the 10th ‘Anniversary’ of a crime so senseless, violent and disturbing, that to this day support groups exist because of it.

The videos in the first comment explain it all, but it is not just about Matthew Shepard. 10 years later, every day virtually every minute, a person’s sexual preference is the reason they are harrassed, excluded, beaten…and yes, killed.

The Blog is a way for the Community to ‘get away’ and socialize and have fun - but sometimes, and rightfully so, it puts us smack into Reality.

I thank all the people that are my friends and that I work and play with on the Internet that encourage and support this rememberence, Ralph being one of the more supportive - and all the Bloggies who we respect so much that we feel empowered to use the Internet for the good of the Community.

On this day we ask you all, wherever you live and however you may be otherwise involved, to join together and to join with us in reflection - and most importantly to reinforce our resolve, as much as our power will effect…that these Hate Crimes happen…..

NEVER AGAIN

Today I woke up late because I was working at Johnny’s in For Lauderdale. I started training as a bartender there and I have to learn all the drinks. It’s a bit different than Montreal -  alot more bottles of alcohol and drink possibilities. It’s just a kick to learn them all so fast. I’ll manage and test it to see if I like it haha

If everything goes well and I like the job, I’ll be working there 5 shifts a week.  It should be a good winter break from Montreal.  I’m at work and starting in 15 minutes so I better go for now. I’ll be able to post pictures very soon. almost got my camera issue straightened out.
