SLOW AND SURE
The sporadic posting should end soon my bloggies. I’m going to get a new computer soon. I will be able to post everyday like I used to. THANKS TO ALL WHO STUCK WITH ME DURING THIS MAJOR TRANSITION!!! I will never forget it (HotAndy won’t let me lol).
I also need to get a new photo camera. Computers are pretty expensive, I would like to get the new Mac book pro, it will come out in November. It’s almost 3 grand I think. I’d rather invest in something good then get a cheap PC and have to buy something else afterwards. I like quality.
I thought I was off today at work but apparently I am working, so I’m at work right now and I am starting my shift at 9 PM. Everything is well aside from that. I got a phone here in Florida, so now I can spend less money on my phone bills
That’s a start !!
I’m taking things a day at a time, otherwise it’s overwhelming
Talk to you soon XOXOX

November 5th, 2008 at 10:13 pm
Biggest hug and kiss to you Ralph. Semper fidelis. You are sorry busy at work it seems. You said it is overwhelming but just be sure to get your rest and eat well. It will be so good to see pictures from Florida. How is everyone in Florida? I am busy watching all the election stuff. I didn’t get much sleep last night as I am a political junkie. All my love to you - Mark from PA

I just got the 15″ inch Macbook Pro and it’s awesome. The 17 seems to large to me easily mobile.
November 5th, 2008 at 10:31 pm
Ralph, it’s good to hear you’ll be posting more regularly soon. I’m sorry your life has been so busy lately! I agree with you about buying quality instead of junk. If you like well-made, easy to use things, you’ll appreciate having a Mac. You won’t regret it.
November 5th, 2008 at 11:14 pm
Hey Ralph!
I too look forward to having you post on a more regular basis as before. Just know that you are missed when we dont hear from you. We all understand that you have been busy with the new job and transition with your move. I agree that you should get a quality computer instead of just getting something quickly. With what you do with the blog and so forth, you need to have a puter that will handle the load. Try not to work too hard and enjoy it. Just remember that those Florida guys are fortunate to have our Prince making and serving them their drinks! Well, gotta run. Take care pal. SUPER HUGE HUG and LUV YA Ralph and all the Bloggies.

PS I hate to be a pest, are you going to have an addy for us to mail Christmas cards this year? Just wondering pal.

We knew you wouldn’t leave us,I know how difficult the moving&transistion period must have been.
Looking forward to having you “Back in my life” (lol!) more regularly baby!
Please take care

Hi Dave , YES I will have e-mail, just stay tuned lol. Do you think it would help tips if I told customers how lucky they are? lol. Very often people refuse to believe it’s me, like I am a look-a-like or something. It’s funny

Just to tide you over while we are in the process of fixing the Royal ties…one of my favorites from the archives (mostly because it was my idea haha). It’s a great picture to me because you can see from his expression how thrilled he was…NOT…with the whole thing. What can I say, this is what happens on a spontaneous blog when you are tired and wacky

Hi Ralph,
Ooh I love it when you talk Mac, give it to me baby
Seriously I’m also a Mac Geek, at the moment I’m typing this on me iPhone.
But I also have a MacPro 8 core (The Big tower) with an Apple Cinema Display.
If I were you I would go for the MacBook Pro 17″, because when doing video editing you need screen estate (the bigger the better
).
I wouldn’t get just the regullar MacBook, because it has no Firewire connection.
And if you want to do video you really need Firewire!
Sorry for geeking out, but when it comes to Apple……
@HotAndy
Thanks for reposting that picture, It’s really one off my favorites. And the expression on Ralph’s face is great Lol!

Hugs to you Steve Mass. It is good to hear from you. Hope that all is well with you and your mom. Warmest hugs to you from PA. All this technical talk is a little over my head, I’m too old I suppose. Thanks for the photo Andy. Ralph’s look is so sultry here, plus I love his V line and the hair (both places). Ralph, I think it is funny that people refuse to believe it’s you, like you are a look-a-like or something. Smile. It is so great to hear from you.

It was 70 here yesterday, Steve with on and off rain. Now it is 41. The weather forecast looks like it is going to be in the 20’s later in the week. Don’t know if I’m ready for that. I’m not ready for winter yet. At least we are not in California. I’ll take the rain any day. Too bad we can’t send some of our extra rain out west. Well, Ralph, how is the weather in Florida? Have you been able to get out and enjoy or is it just work, work, work. Have a great Sunday all, Warmest hugs to all.

Speaking of warming, let’s hope the prince is enjoying the hot Florida weather.

Hello all here,
Like I said I have had another dream off The Prince!
It was the third or fourth one I have had, it went like this:
(Don’t know exactly how it went, you know how that goes with dreams)
I and a group off people were waiting at sort off a bus station to go on a trip. When we came at the place we needed to be we all went into a building, and there was a man.
Then I saw that Ralph also had joined us, and in my dream that made me really happy!
But after som
November 18th, 2008 at 6:56 pm
PART TWO (somsthing went wrong above)
But after some time things were getting weird!
We couldn’t leave the town we were in, when we wanted to leave the town it felt like there was an invisible wall we couldn’t get through.
Later I found out that we all had a very big implant, not visible with the naked eye. And that was the thing that held us there.
I don’t know if my dream then stopped or that I woke up.
But I do know that when I woke up that morning I felt really happy because I had another dream about The Prince!
So you see Ralph always puts a smile on my face!
Group hug with Ralph, HotAndy and all bloggies out here, and lets all start French kissing each other LOL!

Hi Robert, I actually checked pictures of Brisbane. They had pictures of montster lighting bolts from a major storm last month I think. It sounds like they may be having a rough spring there. Hi friends!
Now it’s snowing more and more!!! Snow all over the landscape. The current of air comes direct from the North Pole. Maybe it’s Santa Claus with his reindeer sledge and brings the Prince back to us. LOL
Great that you all are here as ever - real friends, eh? I wish you all a nice and funny weekend, Stef
November 21st, 2008 at 6:23 pm
That sounds so beautiful Stef. We were supposed to have a little snow today but nothing here. On the TV there were school closings for schools to the west of us but none here. It actually seemed a little warmed around noon but now is colder. Do you have Santa Claus in Germany? I never knew that. I know that Christmas trees had their origin in Germany. Great to hear from you. Now we have to hear from Martijn and any other fellows from Europe. Talk to you all later. It is Friday night so Ralph is probably working. I hope that you are here before Thanksgiving, Ralph. You get to spend our big holiday here in the US.

OMG Steve, you slept naked with no heat? I have some flannel jammies but think I haven’t worn them since the last time there was no heat. I usually wear short-short jammies and if it is hot sometimes just the top or the bottom. This may be more than anyone wanted to know. LOL See, we are getting crazy here without the Prince. Hi all,
Here in Holland we kinda have Santa Claus here, but the children here don’t believe in Santa Claus. For us it is just Christmas and nothing else, most people here in Holland have a Christmass tree but don’t give gifts.
Here we have an other “believe”, on december 5th it’s the bithday of Sinterklaas. Every year he comes from Spain to Holland with a steamboat somewhere in november.
in the weeks between his arrival and the 5th of December, before going to bed, children put their shoes next to the chimney of the coal fired stove or fireplace, with a carrot or some hay in it “for Sinterklaas’s horse”, the next morning they find some candy or a small present in their shoes.
But in the evening off december 5th, the children are waiting for the helpers off Sinterklaas (Zwarte Piet). Because they will knock on the door and leave a big bag with presents for all in front off the door.
Some family’s even higher someone too come to their home dressed up as Sinterklaas and his helpers. And then he brings the presents with him in a big bag.
For more info on Sinterklaas follow the link below
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinterklaas
Ps. If the children haven’t behaved themselves that year, Sinterklaas will bring them with him in a bag when he’s going back too Spain.
But most parents these days don’t say that anymore:)
November 22nd, 2008 at 6:33 pm
Thanks Martijn. I just read that. I knew that Dutch children put out their shoes for St. Nicholas (Sinterklaas). I learned a lot more from that article. Are December 5th and 6th holidays in the Netherlands? Is Christmas a holiday too? Do most people go to church on Christmas in the Netherlands?
Peace & Love - Mark
November 22nd, 2008 at 6:53 pm
Very interesting Martijn. I think Australia’s concept of Santa Claus or Father Christmas comes from Scandinavian folklore (St Niccholas) which is just north of you guys. PS I was in your country a little more than 2 years ago and let me say I LOVE The Netherlands and her wonderful people including you - Martijn!

Hi bloggies,
these are nice stories about pre-Christmas time. Martijn, the Dutch tradtion is close to our one. But for all that we have petit differences.
Yes, Mark from PA, we know Santa Claus in Germany. The last years he came from America as a advertising medium. Now you can find this person during the pre-Christmas time in our shopping centre.
Santa Claus is related with our St. Nikolaus (December 6th). The difference is, that St. Nikolaus wears a miter and a crook - insignias from a bischop. The historic basis is the Bischop of Myra in Turkey. He brings together with Knecht Ruprecht (simular to Zwarte Piet) small presents - cookies, chocalate, nuts, and tangerines - to the childreens. Beforehand Knecht Ruprecht menace with the birch and gives them a telling-off. But is also possible that you find the gifts in front of the entry door in the morning of December 6th. Afterwards these characters disappears and will replaced by Infant Jesus which we called Christkind.
I don’t know if the Christmas tree in origin comes from Germany. This is another story and I have to go to lunch now. Bon apetit, Stef.
November 23rd, 2008 at 8:56 am
Oh where oh where has our Prince Ralph gone, oh where oh where could he be? With his great smile and personality, oh where oh where could he be?
We really dont have any special Christmas traditions in my family other than the ones already mentioned. Just really a commercial holiday to spend money and get together with family and eat! LOL
November 23rd, 2008 at 12:51 pm
Stef, I don’t know if you knew this. The modern image of Santa Claus comes from the German-American cartoonist Thomas Nast. Nast was born in Landau, Germany in 1840 and came to the US as a child. According to Wikipedia, he had nativist (anti-immigrant) views and had a dislike for Irish immigrants and Catholics. (Interesting considering that he was an immigrant) Nast drew pictures of Santa Claus as a fat, jolly, rolly-poly man in a red suit. Prior to this Santa Claus (St Nicholas) was pictured in Bishop’s attire as you have mentioned. So this is where the modern view of Santa Claus came from.
Now, Ralph, we need your input. You need to tell us of the Christmas traditions of Quebec. I am interested in how the traditions there are different from here in the states. I guess you will not have a white Christmas this year unless you are planning on going home for the holidays. Considering how cold it gets in your hometown, it might be a real treat for you to be the Christmas host this year. I really enjoyed your Christmas postings last year. They were a real treat. I hope that you are reading here even if you can’t post. I am with everyone else here. PHONE HOME RALPH.
Love and hugs to all - Mark from PA

Todd, I know there is nothing anyone can say. It’s something everyone goes through and it’s sort of like the world goes around without you being able to notice it for awhile. Where are people you see on the street or in traffic going? How can there still be anything that functions as ‘normal’? My Cherokee ancestry has a spiritual aspect that I am so very proud of, and a truly awesome view of human beings, earth, sky, Heaven…..it is a belief not a cliche, as part of their reality as the rain and the sunshine…… “Now he is awake, as the rest of us are still sleeping. The light in your dream is the light eternal, that glows brighter upon you, as he smiles and waits patiently for the Great Reunion”.
